Going off the rails

By guest writer Laura Pledger

IS he looking at me?

She stole another glance across the carriage.

He is!

The corners of his mouth upturned, curious eyes searching her face for a smile.

Her heart skipped a beat. She dropped her gaze to his powerful hands. I know what those hands could do…

They were drawing to a halt at the platform. He stood.

She rose, too. I can’t let him get away.

With a final jerk, the carriage threw them together.

He flashed her a devastating grin.

And she snapped the handcuffs closed. Now she smiled. “Edward Parker… you’re nicked.”

End of the line.
